Post Procedure Care Instructions

After your microblading procedure, slight irritation and a sense of tightness in the brow area should be expected. Depending on your skin sensitivity, swelling of the area may occur. This can be remedied by applying a clean ice pack or bag of ice on the area in 10 minute intervals. Keep the area clean of things such as dirt and oil.

Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before cleaning your new eyebrows. When cleaning the area, do not use any exfoliator or acid based products. It shouldn’t, but if scabbing or peeling occurs, do not pick at them. Do not apply makeup directly on top of the treated area. To remove makeup worn around the area, wash it with water and a fragrance free soap or a baby wipe. Avoid harsh cleansers and makeup removers.

Lighter color pigments fade faster than darker pigments. The pigment used in microblading is exposed to sunlight year round. Sunlight will fade the pigment so a yearly touch up is recommended for maintenance. Things like retinol, citric acids, microdermabrasion and other procedures that exfoliate your skin can assist in premature fading.

What to Expect

After the first application, your microblading will heal imperfect. A touch up, which is included in the price, needs to be performed at round 4-6 weeks. If the touch up is performed any sooner, there is a risk of scarring the area.

Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab or pad, as this is excess pigment and/or body fluid that is naturally exiting your skin. This should stop after the first few cleanings.

It is essential to avoid the following: excessive sweating (salt in sweat can affect pigment retention), excess sun exposure, and direct water exposure (such as showers and makeup removal) during the first 9 days of healing.

Caring for Microblading & Microshading

Immediately following the procedure and for the next few days, your eyebrows will appear very dark and prominent. That is due to excess pigment oxidizing form air exposure. Your brows may appear lighter or faded afterward due to new granular skin cells growing over the pigment. The color will reappear in about 2-3 weeks as it heals. Eyebrows are never perfectly symmetrical however shape and color adjustments can be done during the perfecting session.

Day 1 (Day of treatment): Wait 2 hours and let the wounds weep lymph. After 2 hours you must wipe off the lymph with a moistened cotton pad (wet with warm water then squeeze excess water out), then apply a thin layer of Aquaphor with a cotton swab or clean finger. Repeat every 2 hours until you go to bed. This will ensure your brows don’t form any scabs. Too much Aquaphor could cause an infection. Not enough could dry them out and result in scabbing.

Day 2 – 9: Repeat the wiping/Aquaphor application on the brows once in the morning, once at night for a total of two times a day. (Dry skin clients on day 2 only: Clean three times throughout the day then move to tending to the area twice a day staring on the 3rd day) After reviewing your aftercare instructions, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Alicia Dane directly- email: Alicia@AliciaDane.com website: www.AliciaDane.com instagram: @AliciaDane
